Nutrition Counseling
HomeNutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling includes assessing individual dietary needs and educating patients on the importance of eating a well-balanced, healthy diet. It’s a personalized comprehensive plan based on patients’ medical conditions, weight concerns, their dietary preferences/restrictions, and lifestyle. It emphasizes intake of superfoods and nutritional supplements (when needed).
“We are what we eat” is a true saying. The foods and drinks you regularly consume affect your energy levels, emotions, and overall well-being.
Approach to Nutrition Counseling
This is a comprehensive assessment where Dr. Mohan will first ask you to create your own food journal for review to work around your meal patterns and preferences. Make sure you write everything accurately to get the most benefit from this evaluation. Some lab testing may also be needed. Some patients may benefit from meal replacements as well, and Dr. Mohan will address that in detail at the visit.
This benefits anyone who wants to eat healthier and more balanced diet, and those living with a chronic illness, low energy levels, or fatigue, and those who struggle with weight gain and want to shed pounds while subsequently maintaining optimal weight long-term.
